Markets & local organic produce in Lot-et-Garonne

In the heart of Lot-et-Garonne, an agricultural region par excellence, markets are a must for discovering the flavours of the terroir. All year round, local producers and artisans offer seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheeses, wines, prunes, poultry and many other authentic products.

The département strongly promotes organic farming and short distribution channels. Many markets feature organic stands, and some, like Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, are entirely dedicated to this mode of production.

Buying local and organic means supporting producers, preserving the environment and enjoying healthy, fresh and tasty products. It's a great way to consume differently... and enjoy it at the same time!

The Bastides

Les Jardins de la France... This is what the French used to call the region, and with good reason: the landscape here is a succession of small valleys where each time a beautiful surprise emerges, a beautiful village by the river or an old walled bastide on the hill. One does not get bored, each village is unique.

And the villages are alive too, every week there is the market, an important social event, where one can find out the latest news but also to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, plants and local specialities.... In summer there are of course the festivals and concerts, not forgetting the big fireworks on "14 juillet".
